Sustaining Dunbar is building a creative, low carbon, locally resilient community here in East Lothian. It is for everyone living or working in the Dunbar and East Linton ward, and provides a network for people to get together with others who share similar interests and want to work together to build a sustainable community.

Dunbar 2025 Project gets underway

The Coordinator for this project is now in post and a series of workshops will be held over the next few weeks to plan the implementation of this project in detail

At the same time, two energy auditors and advisors are being employed to work as an outreach team with the BeGreen project. They will carry out home energy audits and give advice and help to householders on energy saving improvements to their homes. They are currently undergoing training and will shortly be seeking volunteer households to act as 'guinea pigs' as the project gets underway properly in mid-May.

The Living Dunbar community mapping project will also be launched shortly and will form an essential part of the community engagement process, enabling us to map our existing natural and human resources and to build a vision for a low carbon future for Dunbar which is grounded in the reality of our place. more...
