Sustaining Dunbar’s purpose is to inspire, nurture and facilitate Dunbar’s transition to being a creative, low carbon, locally resilient community. It provides a network for people to get together with others who share similar interests and want to work together to build a sustainable community.

As individuals it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the enormity of the unprecedented challenges facing humanity. With the real and imminent prospect of runaway climate change combined with peak oil, a global food crisis and a global economic system crumbling before our eyes, it is clear that profound changes in the way we live our lives are inevitable in the very near future. We need realise that this actually gives us a huge opportunity to come together as a community to envision, plan and create a way of life that is not only sustainable but is potentially much more creative and satisfying.
