Dunbar Community Bakery

A supply of good quality, locally baked bread seems essential in any vision of a sustainable, locally resilient Dunbar. The Smith family are planning to retire and close their bakery on Dunbar High Street in the next few months. The Community Bakery group is hoping to establish a community owned bakery on Dunbar High Street and is currently seeking funding to help it carry out a proper feasibility study and draw up a business plan. The intention would be to set up a bakery as a community owned co-ooperative with the opportunity for local people to purchase shares to help with raising the capital required to get this project off the ground.
